From what you've said i don't really think you even want to hear anyone else's point of view and i doubt anyone will change your mind. I am not particularly partial to the whole emo thing. There are some things I like and dislike, but all and all i think everyone just needs to be who they are. people someotimes get so caught up into fitting into a certain genre or subculture that we forget that we're supposed to just live and be people and like what we like. Not what we're expected or think others want us to like.

Emo culture is a destructive thing. Any group or orientation that's built on celebrating pain or estrangement is a bad idea. It's detrimental to it's members and to society at large.

Do you realize that Weezer used to be considered Emo until the whole gay revolution with faggot bands like My Chemical Gaymance (oops!) The whole thing with the super tight fagpants and Godawful fucking haircuts was just because those fag mainstream bands like Simple Plan and Good Charlotte started to get fucking popular and kids don't know a shit worth of fucking musical subcultures. That's why great fuckin bands like Nada Surf and Pearl Jam went the Alternative/Indie music route.
